Lepape invests to double turnover

26 Jul 2017

Lepape is aiming to double its turnover to more than €40 million in the next three years, after the French fitness and cycling retailer raised €5 million through an issuance of quasi-equity, with contributions from several investors.

With sales of €22 million last year, about half of them coming from its online store, Lepape has turned into a large-scale French customer for brands such as Precor, Gym 80 and Eleiko. Fitness makes up about 35% of the retailer’s turnover, while the remainder comes chiefly from the running and athleisure categories and its cycling sales remain small.

Lepape sells fitness products through two stationary stores in Lyon and Paris and an online store. About half of the group’s turnover with fitness products comes from these stores, the other half is derived from corporate and institutional customers.
