Technogym developing contents

27 Sep 2018

Technogym is developing contents as a means to leverage the reach of its connected platform, the Italian equipment maker said while reporting ample increases in sales and profits for the first half of this year.

“The platform will soon be enriched with media contents, live and on demand coaching services that will be central within our consumer strategy and to consolidate our Technogym 4.0 project,” said Nerio Alessandri, the company’s chief executive, in a statement.

Technogym boasts that its equipment is installed in about 80,000 gyms, and 15,000 of them have purchased the Italian brand’s connected gear. Taken all together, an estimated 10 million people are connected to its My Wellness Cloud platform through dedicated apps.

To take advantage of this asset, it has started raising investment in its media division, which develops contents and training programs for various levels of intensity and fitness. They are meant to be delivered both at home and in clubs.

Technogym’s focus on sales of its connected equipment has helped to raise its turnover by 3.6% to €272.9 million in the first half, which was an increase of 8.3% without exchange rate changes.
